This workshop will introduce the basics of functional electrical stimulation (FES) and provide the knowledge and practice to start using in clinical practice.
At the conclusion of this workshop, participants will be able to:
- Understand how each stimulation parameter affects the neurophysiological response
- Identify neurological clients who are appropriate for FES
- Appropriately manipulate stimulation parameters
- Apply one-channel FES effectively and common one-channel UE and LE applications (e.g., hemiplegic shoulder, spasticity, dropped foot, weight-bearing symmetry)
