Muskoka Algonquin Healthcare’s (MAHC) Huntsville District Memorial Hospital Site is the designated District Stroke Centre serving a catchment area stretching from Gravenhurst to Sundridge/South River and from Parry Sound to Dorset/Dwight, as well as indigenous communities in Wahta Mohawk and Moose Deer Point First Nations.
MAHC Huntsville is the tPA delivery site and Endovascular Treatment (EVT) triage centre for the Muskoka District. For patients admitted with a stroke, an interprofessional team provides care. Rehabilitation services are shared between all inpatients (not limited to those with a stroke diagnosis). Arrangements will be made for patients requiring ongoing rehabilitation at a facility with designated inpatient rehab beds.
